RPC Services 1.0 is temporarily being licensed as a combination of HTTP Server and
HTTP Client components. These licenses will be replaced with dedicated RPC Services

Support and Upgrades

PicLan-IP includes 90 days of telephone and email installation support as well as 90 days of free access to version upgrades via internet download.

At the time of purchase, the end-user or dealer will be invoiced for an annual support contract at a cost of 20% of the software license cost. This support contact is discounted to dealers under the same discount schedule as the PicLan-IP software. Regardless of whether the support contract is with the end-user directly or through the dealer, Modular Software will provide support to both the end-user and dealer. Having this support contract in place also allows users continuing access to upgrades via internet download during the support contract's period. The first year's support contract is optional, but is highly recommended for both new and experienced users.

If a support contract is not in place or has expired, Modular Software cannot supply technical support assistance or upgrades. Your PicLan-IP installation will continue to function (there are no hidden expiration dates) but you may be unable to obtain the latest software release. Reinstating an expired support contract is available as a one year contract at 30% of the software license cost.

PicLan-IP configuration upgrades are available to any user with an active support contract. Users may also re-host PicLan-IP onto another compatible MultiValue platform under this provision.

If the newer configuration is of equal or lesser value than the original configuration, then the configuration change has a one-time fee of $50. If the newer configuration is of greater value than the original configuration, then the configuration upgrade has a one-time fee equal to the difference in software license costs plus $50 and a pro-rated 20% fee covering support for the added features for the remainder of the current support contract's term.
